Mike Baxter is capable of the gushy, sweet emotions that are hidden deep within him, though. After the prank, Chuck says, “It was genius because what is the scariest thing to Mike Baxter?” In unison, Vanessa and Chuck answer, “Human emotion!” As Chuck and Vanessa hilariously point out by pranking Mike, human emotion is the main character’s mortal enemy. The show really shines when his caring side peaks through the rough. It’s clear with his borderline politically-incorrect lines and don’t-care personality, that Mike has a tough side to him.
